Degree: BA Hons English Language & Communication and English Literature

Editor: This Festival Feeling

First taken on as a staff reporter for This Festival Feeling (www.thisfestivalfeeling.com) in September 2012, I contributed regular features on festivals and reviews. After one season, I was asked to take on the role of editor of the website and became responsible for editing all digital news and feature content. I also liased with and led an editorial team, worked with PR companies, wrote regular features, news stories and interviewed bands/festival figures, had input into social media content and strategies, and came up with strong editorial ideas.

Journalist/Columnist: The Lynn News

First employed by The Lynn News (www.lynnnews.co.uk) (King's Lynn, Norfolk) after securing the front page story during a week of work experience, I was taken on as a full time reporter and a weekly columnist. After graduating, I was taken on as a full time reporter by the Johnston Press publication and although employed as part of the news team, I also took over running the website, social media channels and the entertainment section as well. Worked for the company for nearly four years and gained invaluable reporting experience.

Founded Absolutely Lucy (www.absolutelylucy.com) in September 2013 as a lifestyle blog, but in less than a year it has proved popular enough to go self-hosted, with a great social media following. Absolutely Lucy is now a travel, lifestyle and festivals blog aimed at the woman in her twenties who isn't ready to grow up yet and just doesn't want to stop living. Last year, Absolutely Lucy was awarded a Highly Commended in Travel at the UK Blog Awards after only starting to cover travel six months earlier, the blog has just been shortlisted out of thousands of entries again. Absolutely Lucy has also guest posted on several other sites, and has worked with a range of companies through the blog including Durex, Wexas and Harrods.
